Yes, Mike turned 60! 😮
This past weekend was a very busy one for us as we prepared to celebrate 6 decades of Mike’s life! I thought I may as well blog about it for those of you who would like to see the photos, but aren’t on Facebook.
Mike decided to have a Parisian Soiree for his party, so Cathy and I did our best to turn our home into something that looked vaguely French! Cathy did most of the organising, thankfully!
Mike and I got all dressed up for the occasion, Mike hadn’t used his tuxedo since Washington DC:
Steve got ready to be the barman:
While family waited for guests to arrive!
We had 5 family members staying in our house for the event while others stayed in town.
The dressed table:
Then guests began to arrive!
Our friend Graeme brought along a prepared canvas for people to add a colour to:
The canvas at the end of the evening looked like this:
We managed to frame some of our guests. Here’s Dad’s brother Tony and his wife Lorna:
Denise and I trying to be very mature about it all:
Laurel and Anna, pretty as a picture! 🙂
My brother Evan and his wife Linda (with lots of photo bombing by Mike in the background):
Mum and Dad (even older than Mike!):
Mike’s sister Colleen in the centre, with her husband Clyde and Mele on the right:
And my two SILs – Linda on the left and Lynda on the right:
Then it was time for some sweet stuff.
The croque-en-bouche was lit with a candle for each decade:
Then it was back to eating and framing people again. 🙂 Here we framed Mele and Ete:
And Mike and Peter:
Mike’s sisters, Lynda and Colleen:
Cathy, Steve, and Anna
Then some older siblings:
And finally, Ward family portrait time!
But we weren’t done partying yet, the next day we had even more reason to celebrate… see the next blog post! 🙂
